“The art of LOVE is largely the art of persistence.”

"Self  Love”    Valentine’s Day, also called St. Valentine’s Day, holiday (February 14) when lovers express their affection with greetings and gifts. Given their similarities, it has been suggested that the holiday has origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, held in mid-February. The festival, which celebrated the coming of spring, included fertility rites and the pairing off of women with men by lottery. At the end of the 5th century, Pope Gelasius I forbid the celebration of Lupercalia and is sometimes attributed with replacing it with St. Valentine’s Day, but the true origin of the holiday is vague at best. Valentine’s Day did not come to be celebrated as a day of romance until about the 14th century.    The day is popular in the United States as well as in Britain, Canada, and Australia, and it is also celebrated in other countries, including Argentina, France, Mexico, and South Korea. In the Philippines it is the most common wedding anniversary, ...

THE KANNAWIDAN FESTIVAL 2023 CELEBRATION

"TAWID KEN KULTURA"     Kannawidan Ylocos is an annual festival that celebrates the founding of the province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines every 2nd of February. A week-long celebration, its activities span from the last few days of January to the first week of February. Major activities occur in Vigan, the capital of the province.     The name Kannawidan Ylocos is derived from the word tawid. Tradition, legacy, and/or heritage are the English translations. It commemorates the province's historical establishment during Spanish times.    Kannawidan Ylocos was first introduced during the presidency of Deogracias Victor Savellano in 2008. It was founded to raise awareness of and preserve local culture, tradition, heritage, and customs. It was also a chance to highlight local products, artistry, and craftsmanship. It was also created to help the local tourism industry.     Traditional games, cultural shows, drone light and dancing fountain shows, firewor...

"THE ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS"

"CHRISTMAS ISNT A SEASON, ITS A FEELING"   Christmas is just around the bend. We know it. We feel it. We hear it. We smell it. We see it. Pinoys are perhaps the only people who celebrate Christmas the longest, and uniquely at that. To other cultures, Christmas is just a two-day or one-day affair, but for Filipinos here and abroad, it's the most wonderful time of the year indeed – an occasion fit to last for several months and worthy of coming home to regardless of the circumstance. The moment the clock strikes 12 midnight on the first of September, Pinoys are already greeting each other a merry Christmas. We celebrate Christmas throughout the duration.   However, the yuletide season in the country really begins at the 16th up until the 24th day of the last month of the year where Misa de Gallo (Night Mass), a nine-day devotion which is usually done as early as 3 o’clock in the morning, starts.   Most of the time people are encouraged to participate in this s...

"THEMATIC OUTPUT"

"A LOOK AROUND VIGAN CALLE CRISOLOGO"    Vigan’s well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture was named as one of The New 7 Wonders of the World. I’m proud.   Ilocos offers many delights, especially to newbie travelers. There were windmills and forts, sand dunes and the preserved corpse of a dictator. But none of it prepared us for the idyllic beauty of Vigan. Calle Crisologo is a long strip of road where you can find the centuries-old houses, the little shops, rustic museums and calesa rides. It shocked us to know that you can also find hotels and even a night club within the houses.   Going around the place makes me feel like I’m being transported back to this period in Philippine Spanish colonial time.   Every year, beautiful muses parade down the street, new festival costumes are created and worn, and new choreography is created.   I take a walk around calle crisologo. And rented a calesa to tour the area, and some of these photos were taken while...

"Estudyantrepreneur 2022"

Entrepreneurship and innovation assist individuals in becoming self-sufficient and channeling their creativity into creating something unique in this competitive world. Learning about entrepreneurship and innovation improves one's analytical and logical skills, allowing one to solve any problem.    We are enthralled by technology as students because it encourages and inspires us to learn new things. The use of ICT in the classroom increases information retention and student engagement. It has a big impact on how people learn, communicate, work, and live. Furthermore, it continues to transform every aspect of human life by replacing several tasks that previously required human labor with robots.

"REFLECTION"

I had learned so much in such a short period of time. There were numerous lessons learned. Lessons in school and in life. I go to school, which is one of the reasons I have to work hard and make my family proud. Each subject has its own set of lessons to teach. This second quarter has taught me a lot. Everyday learning is good for our health. I'm certain it does. Due to the abundance of assignments, learning can be exhausting at times, but the effort will be worthwhile. Tags in ICT, mirrors and motors in Science, and many other topics are covered. I'd like to learn more in the future. Thank you also to the teachers who are eager to share their knowledge.

"NEW YEAR, NEW US"

"THE BEST IS YET TO COME"   When the new year comes around it seems like the perfect time for self-improvement.Even though I’ve always failed my New Year’s resolutions, every year I promise myself that this time will be different. I’ve tried everything from being a vegetarian to starting my homework earlier to giving up Facebook. Each time after about a month (at most) I’ve given up. Why do I even bother? I don’t feel that bad when I break my resolutions but sometimes I wish I could do better.     I know that it’s better to make a SMART goal, (specific, measurable, attainable, reachable, and timely), but it’s challenging for me to find a realistic goal to follow in a year. I like to accomplish little goals, so using my past knowledge, (and a little bit of brain power), I came up with a SMART New Years resolution.     I think I need to get a lot better at telling people, “No.”. I was born a people-pleaser, so I tend to subconsciously do whatever I c...
