RIGHTFULLY HER'S

Rightfully HER'S

March is commonly regarded as Women's Month in the Philippines, a time to celebrate and commemorate the tremendous contributions made by women to society. This month-long commemoration strives to increase public awareness of women's rights and the battles they have waged for equality.

The first week of March was designated as Women's Week by Proclamation No. 224, which marked the beginning of the Philippines' celebration of Women's Month. In an effort to advance gender equality and women's empowerment, this was eventually extended to the entire month.

The 2023 National Women's Month Celebration marks a key turning point for women's rights, establishing WE for gender equality and an inclusive society as the new recurrent theme for the following six years, until 2028.

The Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028 emphasizes that growth must be inclusive, creating an environment that offers equal opportunities to all Filipinos and equipping them with skills to fully participate in an innovative and globally competitive economy.

Throughout the month, there are a number of occasions and activities that support women's empowerment, including webinars, seminars, exhibitions of arts and culture, and health and wellness fairs. Also, several businesses provide promotions and discounts specifically for women.

Events and activities are held all around the country to celebrate women's accomplishments and to advance women's causes. Women's organizations, NGOs, and government organizations actively participate in planning and promoting these events, which are led by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW).

This year, PCW wants everyone to wear purple on Wednesdays during the whole month of March, not just women. Using the hashtags #PurpleWednesdays, #WEcanbeEquALL, and #NWMC2023, they can share their images online.

Women's Month in the Philippines is a vital time to celebrate women's achievements while acknowledging the challenges they continue to face in achieving gender equality. It is an opportunity for individuals and organizations to unite and work towards creating a more just and equal society for all. (PIA-NCR).

We must  continue the weomen's month celebration to give more rights for girls and women does not mean fewer rights for everybody else. In fact, the celebration of National Women’s Month aims for equality for all genders and identities. In other words, it dreams of an even playing field for everybody.

We can learn so much from women of the past and present and draw strength from their courage. Like these women, Camella believes in female courage and its ability to shape households. Camella believes that women make strong foundations for communities.

“The art of LOVE is largely the art of persistence.”

"Self  Love”    Valentine’s Day, also called St. Valentine’s Day, holiday (February 14) when lovers express their affection with greetings and gifts. Given their similarities, it has been suggested that the holiday has origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, held in mid-February. The festival, which celebrated the coming of spring, included fertility rites and the pairing off of women with men by lottery. At the end of the 5th century, Pope Gelasius I forbid the celebration of Lupercalia and is sometimes attributed with replacing it with St. Valentine’s Day, but the true origin of the holiday is vague at best. Valentine’s Day did not come to be celebrated as a day of romance until about the 14th century.    The day is popular in the United States as well as in Britain, Canada, and Australia, and it is also celebrated in other countries, including Argentina, France, Mexico, and South Korea. In the Philippines it is the most common wedding anniversary, ...

"NEW YEAR, NEW US"

"THE BEST IS YET TO COME"   When the new year comes around it seems like the perfect time for self-improvement.Even though I’ve always failed my New Year’s resolutions, every year I promise myself that this time will be different. I’ve tried everything from being a vegetarian to starting my homework earlier to giving up Facebook. Each time after about a month (at most) I’ve given up. Why do I even bother? I don’t feel that bad when I break my resolutions but sometimes I wish I could do better.     I know that it’s better to make a SMART goal, (specific, measurable, attainable, reachable, and timely), but it’s challenging for me to find a realistic goal to follow in a year. I like to accomplish little goals, so using my past knowledge, (and a little bit of brain power), I came up with a SMART New Years resolution.     I think I need to get a lot better at telling people, “No.”. I was born a people-pleaser, so I tend to subconsciously do whatever I c...
